This could mean five dollar gas or more by the end of the year.
Some suggestions for how you can prepare

• Move closer to work
• Move into a cheaper apartment
• Learn the bus routes
• Get a hybrid
• Get a bike
• Make lifestyle changes to offset the higher prices of gas
• Cancel cable tv (stream tv shows off the internet)
• Energy efficient light bulbs
• Eat out less
• Skip going to the movies and get Netflix

Gas Hits $4.22 In Washington

According to AAA, the highest gas is found the "highest gasoline price in Bellingham at $4.31 a gallon and the lowest in Spokane at $4.01. Prices in some other cities surveyed by the AAA: Seattle $4.26, Olympia $4.27, Vancouver $4.21, Yakima $4.14, Tri-Cities $4.13." (SeattleTimes)

Oil hits record high

The Seattle Times has an article about the recent record high of oil.

"Light, sweet crude for April delivery rose $1.93 to $103.77 on the New York Mercantile Exchange after earlier rising as high as $103.95. That's higher than the price of $103.76 that many analysts believe oil hit in 1980, when adjusted for inflation into 2008 dollars."

With the possibility of gas hitting 4 dollars this summer, this is the perfect opportunity to make plans to find alternative ways to get around the city. Here are some suggestions:

• Buy a bicycle, you can even get a recycled bicycle
• Walk to work
• Move closer to your work place
