H&M coming to Seattle!

From the Seattle Business Journal
H&M, the Swedish clothing company that's a favorite of penny-pinching young fashionistas worldwide, is eyeing the Puget Sound area.
(Sadly the Article is for Paid Subscribers)

I can already imagine the long 2 to 4 hour lines just to get into the store.

I heard rumors that it will be opening up in the UVillage. Can anyone confirm this, perphaps someone who subscribes to the Puget Sound Business Journal?

Looking at the PSBJ right now. "H&M spokeswomen Lisa Sandberg confirmed that the company has been site shopping in the Puget Sound area". There is nothing signed or leased yet. It seems that they are very intrested in taking over Kenneth Cole's site at 520 Pike tower in downtown Seattle. That's if Kenneth Cole would be willing to relocate. Article does not mention U village as a possible spot but does list downtown Seattle, Bellevue, Northgate, Alderwood, and Southcenter. H&M has an established relationship with Westfield group since opening the San Francisco store with them last year. Which means that a store could go up in Southcenter especially since they are undergoing a major expansion and could provide a large enough space. All and all H&M is projected to open 26 US stores this year let's hope we get at least one of those!
