Lightrail on I-90...Disaster waiting to happen

Lightrail on I-90...Disaster waiting to happen

Seattle Times has an article about running the lightrail over the floating bridget
article

I think the idea is awesome but the more I think about it the more I feel it might be a disaster waiting to happen. What if we have a massive storm. Waves, or Wind could possibly derail the light rail.
This would be the first floating bridge to carry passenger trains.

There's very little difference between this and a suspension bridge, in terms of flex and shift. Waves and wind would blow cars off the road before they'd come close to derailing a 100 ton train. We close the bridge during extremely intense wind storms already, and this would be no different. I mean, think about it - have you ever heard of a bus being tipped over on that bridge? :)
