Summer Concerts at Othello Playground

Seattle Parks and Recreation, in partnership with local nonprofit organizations and businesses, brings summer concerts to Othello Playground for a second summer season.

Concerts take place from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sundays June 10, July 15, August 12, and September 9, at the park, 4351 S Othello St. (at 45th Ave. S).

The concerts will feature more than a dozen performances by mostly local Southeast Seattle artists with a wide range of musical styles from jazz and blues to hip-hop and gospel.

June 10
2 - 3 p.m. Abrace, "Embracing the world through music"

3:30 - 4:30 p.m. The Jazz Beacons, "A rhythmic journey with eclectic stylings"

5 - 6 p.m. Momentum Jazz Quartet, "Versatile jazz which will definitely keep you moving!"

July 15
2 - 3 p.m. The Anthony Pizarro Group, "Over the edge, Latin, Pop, Jazz guitarist"

3:30 - 4:30 p.m. Michael Powers Group, "Hot Latin Jazz from his new CD: Cinco de Michael"

5 - 6 p.m. Tor Dietrichson with Global Village, "World Fusion Jazz from a pioneer of the World Music genre"

Sponsors include Homesight, the Community Safety Initiative, the Mt. Baker Housing Association, and Seattle Weed & Seed.
