Seattle - One of the Most Beautiful Cities in the World

From the SeattlePI

Calling the city's new Olympic Sculpture Park "brilliant," the American Society of Landscape Architects named its designers one of three 2007 award winners for projects in the Seattle area.

Other projects honored were Washington Mutual's 17th-floor green roof, and greening-of-Seattle concepts developed for the next century.

In addition, Richard Haag of Seattle will receive the society's Design Medal for his work at Gas Works Park on Lake Union and at the Bloedel Reserve on Bainbridge Island.

"Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and this is reflected in the number of projects and landscape architects receiving top honors year after year," said society president Patrick W. Caughey.

ok, i hafta confess, i haven't been down to the new sculpture park yet. i've heard lotsa great things about it and one of these days i gotta go see it in person.

as for the new WAMU tower, I haven't paid any attention to it. to me, it's just another skyscraper in an already crowded downtown.

and gasworks park? what's new and different about that? I was there just a week ago and it looked the same as it did a year ago, which was the first time i ever visited that park. so if anything's changed there, i wouldn't know much about it.
