What I Love About Seattle: Bauhaus Coffee House

Seattle has an amazing coffee shop scene, unlike any where else I have ever been with exception to Portland (Portland is like Seattle's little sister / they have a similar culture)

Bauhaus is inviting and always packed full of people from the moment it opens till it closes at 1AM. People reading, writing novels, doing homework, chatting with friends and it's not uncommon for this all to happen to the soundtrack of some amazing music like Morrissey. There is something comforting about being surrounded by your fellow Capitol Hillers to the sweet sound of lattes and mochas being made. (Bauhaus on Yelp)

Bauhaus is the best. I think I've gotten more work done there than any other cafe in Seattle. There are other places with better coffee or better music, but the Bauhaus space and atmosphere is perfect.

What is it about Bauhaus that makes it so special?? I just did a write up about the top 9 wine bars in Seattle and now I'm interested in breaking down the best coffee shops just because there are so many to choose from and so many people have random FAVES! Does Bauhaus get your vote?

Bauhaus definitely gets my vote. Bauhaus is the perfect example of Seattle Coffee.

I also love Cafe Vita, Vivace and Victrola up on 15th

i think you hit the nail on the head, buddy. bauhaus might have coffee for sale, but they certainly arn't in the coffee business. they sell community.
