According to new study nearly 60 percent of Washingtonians are overweight. (Link)

I guess that Southern cooking isn't good for the waistline.

Twilight Walking Tour of Historic Cedar Falls Townsite

Seattle Press Release

NEAR NORTH BEND, Wash. — Step inside the past and take a stroll in the twilight to Cedar Falls; historic townsite and birthplace of Seattle City Light. Explore the remaining houses and discover the stories of those who worked, lived and grew up in this unique setting. Closed to the public since September 11, 2001, the area remains a working community with Seattle Public Utilities and City Light operations. This event will feature:

• Marian Arlin, Former Cedar Falls Resident
• Linda Carlson, Author, Company Towns of the Pacific Northwest
• Friends of the Cedar River Watershed
• Displays, refreshments, photos, scavenger hunt, and much more!

What: Walking tour of historic Cedar Falls townsite

Who: Adults/Families (age 10+)/Groups

Where: Meet at the Cedar River Watershed Education Center, just east of North Bend (about 32 miles from downtown Seattle). See below for directions.

When: Friday and Saturday evenings: September 7 & 8th , 6-8:30 PM.

Cost: $5 per person

Directions: From I-90 going East Take Exit 32 ( 436th Ave.) Turn right at the end of the off-ramp. Follow the road ( 436th Ave. SE, Cedar Falls Rd. SE) for about 2.5 miles to Rattlesnake Lake. Continue with the Lake on your right side until you reach the Cedar River Watershed Education Center.
